Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has left it in the hands of President Hashim Thaci to appoint Kosovo's mayor, even though the law says this should be done together. Haradinaj has awarded Thaci the epithet of the “chief in this process, the term that is not supported in the law, writes Koha Ditore today.
The chief of this appointment is the president, which means in co-operation with the prime minister. I name a lot of other people, but the chief of AKI appoints the president in co-ordination with the prime minister, I must lead the firm”, Haradinaj said.
But, under the Law for the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, “the president of the Republic of Kosovo, together with the prime minister, appoints the AKI director within twenty (20) working days from the day the position remains at 11x1>.
The AKI director is dismissed through the same process he has been appointed to. The AKI Director: “) serves as adviser to the president and prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo on intelligence issues dealing with the security of Kosovo”.
