US President Donald Trump has said the latest deadly attack in southern France has shown the need for stricter measures in the fight against terrorist organisation I SIS.
Trump wrote today on the occasion of honouring Officer Arnaud Beltrame in France, who gave his life to save a hostage during the terrorist attack Friday.
Trump on his Twitter account wrote that there is a <x0) world such great courage” in the fight against I SIS, but that “are necessary stricter measures, mainly on the” border.
Beltrame on Friday was offered to the 25-year-old armed assailant, Redowane Lakdi, in exchange for a hostage woman. He successfully left his cell phone open so that the police could hear out what was happening on the market.
Officials said that when they heard the shots at the market, they decided to attack Lakim by killing him with firearms.
Beltrame was seriously injured and his death increased the number of victims to four, while 15 people were injured.
The UN terrorist organisation claimed responsibility for the bloodiest attack since Emmanuel Macron became president of France in May last year.
