Turkey is looking to extend military operations to Kurdish-controlled Africa of Syria, including Manbiy, inciting fears of a possible confrontation with American troops deployed in the area.
Turkey's presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin has said about “Al Jazeera” on Monday that Ankara and Washington have reached a general agreement in Manbij and that the ally of NATO is expected to implement this agreement, reports “Al Jazeera”, Periscopi broadcast.
About Kalin's statements, United States Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said “this is ridiculous, because no agreement has been reached. ”
Turkey's President Recep Tayip Erdogan has declared the operational plan Monday, a day after Turkey-led forces entered the city of Africa without facing resistance.
“We will continue this process until we completely eliminate this corridor, including Manbij, Ayn al-Arab, Tal Abyad, Ras al-Ayn and Qamishli,” said the Turkish leader./Periscopi/
