Self-determination concerned with VMRO's anti-Albanian approach

The Vetevendosje movement through a communique for the media has welcomed the vote of the Law on Use of Languages in Macedonia, which, although not formalising the Albanian language in Macedonia, is a progress in the rights of Albanians. This law, as stated in their communiqué, still treats Albanian as one [...]
This law, as stated in their communiqué, still treats Albanian as a minority language, equal to other minority languages, Roma, Turkish, Vlach, etc.
This is something that should be intended to change, as Albanians in Macedonia are not minorities, but an autochthon-state nation. Although under this law in banknotes and police uniforms will not be written Albanian, voting in the assembly represents a step forward, compared to the difficult conditions and state discrimination that Albanians have faced in recent years”, it is said in communiqués.
The opposition party, which continues the same path as it was in government, is said to be disturbing VMRO's anti-Albanian approach -- the largest opposition party, which continues when it was in government -- aiming to seduce the chauvinist-minded electoral segments against Albanians.
This approach is felt from the blockade of Republika Ivanov's president, who has turned this bill several times into a convent, to Gruevski's street gestures.”, it says.
The VV says voting the Law on Language Use is necessary but insufficient achievement.
“Prime Minister Zaev could never say he now committed the obligation to Albanians, who supported him to come to power. Albanians need to get investments from the state without being discriminated against, better schools and jobs. They need infrastructure and equal participation in state institutions and administration. Above all, they need to stop insults and threats against them, as well as discrimination in the judicial system”, said further in the communique.
In addition, the adoption of this law has reportedly had to happen since August 2001, as a consequence of the Ohrid Agreement. 17 years of delay are not justified with such a minor achievement.
“Schools, employment, treatment, investments, budgeting, respect of Albanians in Macedonia is still not nearly at the level of the Ohrid Agreement, and let alone what Albanians rightfully deserve, the VV communique concludes.
