It is about a 36-year-old Albanian with 15 names, which was arrested in February 2008. He was sentenced by the Greek Court to 108.5 years in prison on several counts -- that of establishing a criminal organisation, murder, theft in collaboration and possession without permission. However, he was released from his cell after only eight and a half years.
“Protothema” writes that the Albanian has taken advantage of the infamous “Parascopolos” law, which allows convicts to apply for asylum and thus are not expelled from the country. Also, this law has reduced the mandatory punishment of punishment from 3/5 to 2/5.
According to information from “Protothema”, the Albanian was released on bail in November 2016 after 413 days of volunteer work were calculated.
He currently resides in Greece and is awaiting review of his asylum application. More than early release from the cell of Albanian prisoners, “Protothema” actually raises the alarm of Greek law that enables convicts to exit the cell prematurely. Sisa writes the Greek daily, the release of the Albanian, whose name has chosen not to publish it, is just one of several cases. /tvclean/
