The second son of former leader Muammar Gaddhafi, wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal (ICC), who is accused of crimes against humanity, is looking to participate in presidential elections, which will be held at the end of this year, reports “RT” Transmission Periscope.
The 45-year-old, officially hiding in Tunisia, has launched the electoral campaign Monday as a member of the People's Front for Free Libya (PFLL) party.
“Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has decided to run in the upcoming presidential election and does not target power in its traditional sense,” announced. PFL, Ayman Abu Rass during a press conference in Tunisia.
Gadhafi's candidacy will become official after registering the lists, the spokesman said, adding that the man in the exotic intends to extend Libya “to” and to “build peace and stability” in the war-included state.
According to him, Gaddafi's programme reforms include a comprehensive policy of security and social vision for a future based on Libya's “modernisation and opening”.
Libya descended into chaos after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi, with numerous governments racing for control of the oil-rich country.
