In an interview with Kosovo's eyjet show, Jahjaga was asked whether he has repented of public protection he has made to Shyhrete Berisha.
Absolutely not, nothing, not a bit. Not only has the case of Shyhrenet but every woman who is facing the canonal and patriarchal discrimination of this society has had it and will have my unhurt and maximum support”, Jahjaga said.
Shyhrete Berisha has survived the massacre against the Berisha family on March 26th 1999 in Suhareka, in which her husband and four children were killed, the youngest of which had been less than two years, while she herself was wounded.
However, after the war, in 2001 she launched a court battle with her brother-in-law, Jelal Berisha, who took her home in which Shyretta had lived with her family until the day of the massacre.
Jahjaga also spoke of her experiences at meetings with Berisha.
This woman has given away a lot, lost a lot, lost her children and her husband, and we as a society can't behave with a derogatory approach... Still without falling into the ground on their grave (the family), this woman faced a right that belongs to a right where this was co-founding”, Jahjaga said.
In front of Jaryra, Jahjaga also speaks of some of the most important decisions he has made as president and previously undiscovered details of his leadership.
