Italian hunter killed young man in Albania, after 15 years Italian court recognises compensation to family

After almost 15 years of killing the 15-year-old boy, an Albanian family has seen justice go to the country: Vicenza's civil court has decided that the killer, an Italian citizen, will pay the maximum compensation recognised by Italian law in those cases. Everything started in 2003 when an Italian, hunting in middle Albania, killed a 15-year-old boy. Albanian justice accused the Italian of the criminal act of “killing by carelessness”. Final sentence (after three degrees of trial), 3 years in prison, was handed in 2009 in absence, after the Italian had already returned to his homeland. It was declared in search and immediately demanded that Albanian criminal punishment be recognised by Italian justice.
In Italy, the family entrusts the court case to lawyer Ida Beqo, who narrates this event to Albania. com and that to protect the 15-year-old family does not want to provide information on the identification of the victim and the killer.
In Italy we had to follow two roads in parallel, on the one hand knowing the criminal decision of Albanian justice and on the other, to set up civil trials so that the family was known as a worthy retaliatory”.
After many years, the year was reached for recognition of the Albanian court's decision, so even in Italy the 15-year-old killer is now found guilty of murder by negligence. But he hasn't served a day in prison anyway. The “has spent many years from the event already in Italy, and there have been convictions of punishment, so for the three years given in 2009 by the Albanian court, the Italian will probably not ever enter prison” explains the lawyer. “But for the injured side the recognition of the Albanian criminal decision was very important because it facilitated our work in the civil trial for recognising the compensation”.
And the first instigation decision reached January 31st. Even though no one ever returns to the boy, the family will finally receive the highest compensation known to Italian law” says lawyer Ilda Beqo.
In fact, as rarely, the court has recognized the family's maximum compensation, without being influenced by the fact that the victim was Albanian and that the family lives in Albania, as has happened at other times.
