The Serbian newspaper “Kurir” writes today that the Albanian mafia has cleared more than 1.5 billion euros in the real estate market in Serbia, and that has happened over the past 10 years.
The dialogue's co-ordinators estimate that the Albanian mafia thus became the most likely player in an elaborate money laundering scheme acquired through crime, mainly drugs and arms trafficking”.
Former Belgrade Police Director Marko Nikovic says Albanian mobsters clean between 80m euros and 100m euros a year through buying land, real estate and building buildings -- all through “so-called Serbian businessmen”, B92 quoted.
“In these transactions, as a rule, Albanians never come out, but this is done through several ways, for example, Petar Petrovic from Munich, who, for a certain percentage, serves as a facade, especially in southern and southeast Serbia”, says Nikovic.
He added that Albanian drug clans use the same method for purchasing real estate in the Adriatic regions of Croatia and Montenegro, as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, broadcast Oranews. /Periscopi
