Kastrati: Sami Kurteshi had said he would resign from the VV if Bajram Mavriqi was elected chairman

This statement by Kurteshi had come to a direct news conference after Kastrati and his party The PSD, former Parliament Speaker Bajram Mavriqi, who is chairman of Vetevendosje in Kamenica, dismissed it.

In an interview for Periscope, Kastracti said he was extremely surprised by what Kurteshi had said, but according to him, Mavriqi did not even like Kurteshi himself.

Kastrati has said Kurteshi had declared he would resign from the VV, should Mavriqi become party chairman in Kamenica.

I am, in fact, extremely surprised by such a statement by Mr. Kurteshi. I still have respect for his past and I'm surprised because I wouldn't believe that someone is willing to say something publicly that, he and I, we know he doesn't believe that either. It is important to share with the public that he has said in the past that if Bajram Mavriqi is the chairman of Vetevendosje in Kamenica, I will leave the Vetevendosje Movement”, Kastrati said in the interview for Periscope.

Kastrati has further stressed that they are the very assemblyists for whom Kurteshi accuses of co-operation, those who had made the Comunal Assembly head his partner, Mavriqi.

“are the same assemblyists who have voted the person in question, so that the former chairman will elect the leader, that is, assemblyists of the Serb community and assemblyists of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in the Municipal Assembly.
