Joint Kosovo- Albania in Pec, these are topics to be discussed

Kosovo Government officials have announced that at the next meeting of the Government of Kosovo and Albania, agreements are expected to be reached so that Kosovo businesses do not have trouble and unnecessary barriers, and not pay unnecessary taxes or high sums in Albania. Monday in Pec will [...]

The upcoming meeting of two Albanian governments -- the Government of Kosovo and the Government of Albania -- will take place on Monday, while the day before Sunday, the discovery of Septembers of directors and heroes of the Albanian League of Prizren, where leaders of the two states will be participating.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has said that at the meeting of the two governments, they will address different topics, do an analysis of what has been done so far and will have some new agreements, which will be of importance to the two countries' future.

He acknowledges that there have been difficulties in realising agreements reached at previous meetings of the two government, but believes that this logic will change for the benefit of both countries.

There are difficulties in deepening relations, especially economics, following neglect to implement preliminary agreements and we have worked hard in recent months that the next meeting is not enough to be seen and photographed, but to have concrete results. We are also aware that even today ordinary people have difficulty communicating with them between Kosovo and Albania, have strange unreasonable obstacles, delays, unnecessary obstacles, persecutions of knowing documents, totally unnecessary, and I believe that these two governments should begin to facilitate people's circulation, circulation of goods, creating facilities, removing unnecessary barriers, removing unnecessary taxes. I am hoping that the gathering of governments in Pec will be the starting point of a profound change of co-operation, which is far more important to be held”, Limaj said.

He has indicated that one of the agenda points at the gathering of two governments is recognition of certificates or licenses released in Tirana and Pristina. <x0)

He has said they are not satisfied with the work done by the two countries' governments, and Kosovo requires deepening co-operation, and removing barricades that have hampered this co-operation.

“We like Kosovo require more deepening co-operation, we seek more of the removal of barriers, which have prevented deepening economic, social, cultural co-operation, and I hope Tirana too will have such a will to reach the end, to remove all the barriers that can be removed, even so economic co-operation between Kosovo and Albania deepen”, Limaj said.

He indicated that at meetings he had with representatives of the Government of Albania, he also raised the issue of co-operation in other areas, such as social, cultural, educational and sports communication. Under this, it has stressed the demand that has been made constantly so that Albania's students can visit Kosovo, just as students of all Kosovo schools visit Albania annually.

“They need to understand that Kosovo also has a history that is theirs, the history of the nation, as we believe we are, events and developments in every corner of Albania and the story that our sons and daughters see, is an integral history of our nation and we feel that it is our history, our culture, so every city and every historical in Kosovo is of the Albanians of Korch, Gjirokastra, Saranda, Shkodra, or any city of those students”, Limaj said.

Limaj has also talked about the concerns of Kosovo businesses and one of the citizens' main concerns, but also of Kosovo businesses, is the road tax that is rated very high.

We have requested from our colleagues in Tirana that we find forms to soften or reduce this price that we believe is high. We have received promises from Tirana that will review the prize and make it more suitable for Kosovo citizens. We believe that establishing a high tax only hinders what we said earlier, deepening economic relations between Kosovo and Albania”, the deputy prime minister said.

Limaj has also indicated that from the government in Tirana, they have sought to review all tax-related fiscal policies, which should be removed and facilitate the country's economy.

“In a way, we expect the promise to be the same on both Kosovo and Albania. You know that we in the Kosovo part to the maximum have facilitated the circulation of the economy and people from Albania. I'm surprised, I can't understand how a citizen of Kukes, who is fully supplied to Prizren for his family needs, to become a barrier or a citizen of Prizren or a citizen of the Gjakova Tropoja. Historically, Gjakova has been the Tropoja market, and Prizren's river market -- this is completely irrational” -- has stressed Deputy Prime Minister Limaj.
