Republican People's Party leader (CHP), Kemal Kılıdaroğlu, has been sentenced by the court for slandering the president.
Erdogan has so far filed 29 indictments against Kılıcdaroğlu for insults, 12 of which have been finalised. The court has demanded that the CHP leader pay the total damages of 880,000 liras (155,000 dollars).
The CHP head sold his summer house in Burhaniye, a coastal town in the Aegean region for 500,000 lira, suggested T24 television, using the money to pay fines for the lawsuits, as well as for financing his son Kerem's wedding, held in September.
The president's insult is prosecuted in Turkey. Erdogan's lawyers have brought 1800 people to court, including school students and celebrities.
