Kosovo is filling with fake money. Only in a residential house in Prizren, counterfeit money worth 230 thousand euros has been found on Tuesday. And according to police statistics, 268 cases of counterfeit money have been reported in just the first six months of this year, which in the last three years totals over 2 thousand and 50 cases. Pristina, Prizren and Ferizaj are the cities where these cases occur most, while the most forged currency continues to remain at 50 euros' worth.
Tuesday's morning, investigative bodies in Prizren found them at one of the residential houses on the “Rruste Kabashi” street in Prizren.
Officials from Prizren's Constitutional Prosecutorship headed towards this house to conduct raids after information and evidence that illegal activities were under way at this facility.
And they returned not their hands therefrom. In this house, after the raids they found and seized some 230 thousand euros, of which there is doubt that there is counterfeit money.
“Procuroria reports that the raid was carried out under the ordinance issued by the Constitutional Court in Prizren, with cases being the result of the raid being found and seized 229,000 (two hundredths of a thousand) euros in money bills, which there is a suspicion that there is a false money”, the prosecution's announcement said.
