The World Children's Protection Movement has announced that Israeli forces try to maim Palestinian children by deliberately targeting them with real bullets and explosive devices.
A written statement by the Palestinian branch of the World Movement for Child Protection points out that Israeli forces target Palestinian children with a view to killing or causing permanent damage.
It also notes in the statement that the Palestinian branch of movement has documented situations when Israeli forces have set a direct goal of killing or causing permanent damage to Palestinian children who participate in peaceful protests held in the Gaza Strip.
The statement presented as examples the situations of eight Palestinian children, stressing that 12-year-old Mahmud es-Sevalihi lost his left eye after being hit in the head by Israeli soldiers.
Sevalihi, who suffered partial memory loss, received psychological support and is waiting to be sent for medical treatment.
The movement has called for a serious and professional investigation into all arms attacks and to punish Israeli soldiers with the reasoning that they have opened fire to kill children and have caused serious damage and disabilities on them.
