It has been about four months since Nehat Thaci has been elected head of the Kosovo Correcting Service. But after ten months of management with this institution he will be forced to leave his position. This is after the Independent Council for Civil Service estimates that Thaci's election is illegal and has submitted recommendation to the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice to cancel the competition today writes Koha Ditore.
This Council has done it several months after candidate Ali Gashi has complained that the selection of the Director of the Correct Service is illegal. But Thursday's decision has sparked reactions to the British Embassy, which has monitored Thaci's election process in this position.
In a proposal for the paper, the British Embassy has said that the candidate whose request has been approved has not been in the narrow list of this position at all.
“Z. Ali Gashi has been disqualified in the first phase because his preliminary experience does not meet the criteria of the leadership experience of at least 5-year-old applicants who are aiming to be appointed to such high-level management positions as is the position of the general director of the Kosovo Correct Service”, the Embassy's response to the paper said.
