Environmentally-related expert Luan Shllaku, through a status in “Facebook” has provided clarifications regarding air pollution in Pristina.

He has praised the fact that Kosovo citizens have made the issue of air pollution a topic, but according to him there are many uncertainties and errors when discussing this phenomenon.

He has listed five mistakes being made in recent days by those talking about the issue, including the minister, journalists and environmental experts.

It's totally wrong to think (and act) in terms of replacing coal that we burn with wood. I've already brought you evidence that the wood is much more pollutant than coal”, it wrote Shllaku in “Facebook”

Shllaku's reaction comes after raising concerns by citizens and activists about air pollution in Pristina and Fushe-Kosovo.

Besides KEK for air pollution, numerous vehicles in traffic are also blamed, as well as burning coal from households and various heating institutions.

To fight air pollution, KALLXO.com invites citizens to report all cases of coal burning pollution.

Because of the high level of air pollution in the capital, Fushje-Kosovo and Obilic, institutions are starting to take this problem more seriously.

Here you can see the complete writing of the Slake Lion:

Finally, Kosovo's shared citizenship managed to bring a very important issue to the house: air quality to Pristina. I see that everyone is being promoted to this problem, and that it continues to be held in the first place (or near first) on the political top list!

But I can see that there's a lot of confusion and error when it comes to this phenomenon. Five of the most frequent mistakes made by the minister to the journalists, and the <x0 environmental applications” these days are:

  1. They're talking about the potential causes of these episodes relating each of them: addressing thermal power plants as if they were contributing to traffic and heating in the house, which brings a fully distorted picture of reality. To know that only on a single day, thermal power plants burn coal as much as the whole Pristina burns during a winter season! Smoke from the auspubes of cars and the chimneys of houses can hardly reach the much higher - placed meter station in the dragonan. You've done a test: you see the concentration of particles in your ace AirVisual when the wind from the TC runs in the opposite direction with Pristina. The concentration will be much smaller. I've done this test.
  1. It's totally wrong to think (and act) in terms of replacing the coal we burn in the wood house. Now I have come to you with evidence that wood is much more pollutant than coal (see my status a month ago where you brought some arguments).
  2. The role of traffic is very important, much more when we know we've taken a lot of wrong steps in this direction, like importing old cars and not applying European standards that limit gas emissions. But in polluting episodes like this, it would be pointless to stop the flow on a certain route when thermal power plants continue to work unhindered! We won't notice any important effects of the measurements made in the dragon, much more when we know that this measure is very much above the level of the motor pipe. In climate situations like what we've got these days, there's no mix of air, because there's no blast of it!
  3. The charge on cake is so repeated by those who have the whole world's mandate to save us from this situation that with the construction of the new Kosovo thermal power plant, the environmental situation will improve!! We're almost building filters, not smokeers! Can you imagine the situation when we add a new pollutant factory, which emits gases and toxic particles (the second much less), and with this job, the overall situation is greatly improved! I know that explorers of this fatal theory think about the situation that connects to stopping Kosovo A once the new Kosovo is released, but why is it that we need a hypothetical situation when we finally get rid of a pollutant to bring the other pollutant to replace it! How logical!
  4. No one does make the interaction of the current problem with the meteorological conditions that dominate in the winter, which are the number one cause of extreme episodes like these days. If we understood this connection better then we'd be preparing a lot earlier for these situations; like the plans we make during the summer for cleaning snow out of the streets. Why don't we plan on having Kosovo A or B stopped for two winter months, providing energy in those months from import?

I'm afraid of measures that arise from non-recognition of “patology” of this problem. Persistently these misconceptions, not to be called otherwise, which bring in the wrong measures, such as that comedy with the emptying of a wooden arm (dugged) into the courtyard of a corner, to replace coal! O tempora o mOh, God!
