At least four Serbs and a policeman have taken bodily injuries in some cases when a number of young Serbs have been beaten among themselves. Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq, in a message sent to Kosovo Serbs, has said Serbia wants to solve problems between Serbs and Albanians for lasting peace and stability, the paper today writes Sound.
Orthodox funerals or “Boziqi”, as Serbs call it, have not gone smoothly north of Mitrovica.
A series of beatings among Serb groups in the northern part of Mitrovica are marked on Saturday, on the night of “Bozpi”, as the Serbs call Orthodox Christmass. In two cases there are also injuries, police sources north of Mitrovica have revealed.
Among the northern Serbs of Mitrovica is viewed on Saturday and Sunday as the director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia government, Marko Djurovic, while with a message to Kosovo Serbs, Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq, writes Voice.
Kosovo police have announced that a beating between two major groups of northern Mitrovica Serbs occurred on the main path “King Peter I”, at the discotheque “Sfens”
Police have reported four persons who have received bodily injuries and have been sent to the northern Mitrovica Hospital for treatment.
Another beating among Serb groups has occurred in the “cafe Princip”, which is located in the centre of the city in northern Mitrovica.
The beating has been sequenced since many young people have been involved.
Kosovo police have been exiled, and on that occasion even a policeman has suffered bodily injuries.
According to the Kosovo Police in the north, four persons whose identity has not been disclosed who have been sent for medical treatment have been injured in the mass beating, while suspected persons are on the run.
The newspaper “Voice” has learned that Serbs have been beaten among themselves in at least two other cases, but no information has been given about the number of involved in incidents and hurt.
On the other hand, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has ordered that Serbia is determined to solve the problem between Serbs and Albanians to gain lasting stability and peace.
We want to solve the problem of Serbs and Albanians, and this will be the essence of policy that we will lead, because we want to have lasting peace and stability. I hope the Bozchi's party goes smoothly”, Vuciq said.
Serbian authorities, reportedly in Vuciki's message, have information under which “is working with the international factor to create calm and security for Kosovo's Serb people for a holiday”.
I can't talk for more. What we can do is provide tranquillity and stability. I do not want to enter the Albanian reports with their sponsors”, Vuciq has said, adding that it is currently important to preserve peace for our “people in Kosovo “following politicians' threats in Pristina concerning the Special Court.
We don't actually have power, but we do what we can to protect the Serbs there. We have received important information from KFOR. Belgrade will give itself everything that the problems are overcome peacefully. We are willing to talk in Brussels as well, and in any other country under the UN auspices, we want to talk about all the problems. There is no point in discussing the individual problems of people of power in Kosovo”, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said among other things.
Meanwhile, the director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Marko Djuric, said the situation in Kosovo's international plan has recently changed.
There are differences, I think. We must have patience, courage, and confidence that we will soon await our freedom. Everyone here dreams of freedom, and that's our greatest offer,”, Djuric said in Mitrovica.
