Millions of Americans have left Florida. Miami has become a ghost city.
Over 560 thousand people south of Florida are without power. The Tornado has already taken the first victims, broadcast Telegrafi.
“The storm is massive, so large there is no difference in the power of its alignment. There is danger of rising sea waves”, says Miami Mayor Philip Levine.
The Tornado was empowered today in a 4th - degree storm with wind speeds of about 80 miles [130 km] an hour. 35 million people have been warned of the threat of a hurricane because destruction is expected in some areas of the southern American state.
Florida Governor Rick Scott named Irma “a catastrophic storm that this country has never seen before”.
Many Albanians live in Florida. The Voice of America spoke to Alma Gripshi Kraji, who lives with her family in Fort Lauderdale, near Miami.
