Kosovo Central Bank Governor Bedri Hamza has been elected finance minister today.
Unless there is no announcement on the Kosovo Central Bank website, the election as finance minister cannot afford to exercise even the office of governor of the Republic of Kosovo.
KA LLXO.com has tried to get an answer from BQK officials, but they have not responded to phone calls.
In the meantime, on the BQC site, the latest news is about Hamza's meeting in the governor's quality with World Bank Director for the Western Balkans, Mrs. Linda VanGelder.
Article 40, BQ-inp's Law 3 points, prohibits assemblyers and members of the government cabinet from being in the governor's position.
“No person will serve in the Central Bank's decision-making bodies while he is a member of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly Government, official of a government ministry, or of any other public entity...”, says Article 40, provision 2 of the Law for BQ.
For Hamza, coming to the helm of the Ministry of Finance is nothing new, as he was elected governor of the Republic of Kosovo from the position of finance minister.
