The Dehari family awaiting a co-operation with the new Government, justice minister still did not meet with them

The new justice minister, Abelard Tahiri, had stated that during the past week he would meet with the Astrit Dehari family, with which he would also discuss the state where the international expertise will be conducted for him. But neither last week nor this week, he is still not [...]

But neither last week nor this week, he has yet to meet the Dehrari family.

So has declared for Indexline, lawyer Tome Gashi, who stresses that they are ready for a meeting with the new Justice Minister and for a co-operation with him.

However, he stresses that the Dehari family has not yet selected the relevant institution for investigation and independent expertise.

The minister has not met with anyone from the Dehari family and the moment he invites us, we will present ourselves and we will have a co-operation with the Ministry of Justice, but in advance we must select the Dehari family's relevant institution for investigation and independent expertise”, Gashi said.

According to Gashi, the Dehari family has so far been awaiting the formation of the new government, as according to him, the past government has refused to engage the Institute of Legal expertise in Switzerland.

“Family Dehari has expected the formation of the government, because the previous government has refused to engage the Institute of Legal expertise in Switzerland, which has been selected by the Dehari family with the reasoning that Switzerland is not a member of the European Union. The Kosovo Assembly has allowed the Dehari family to find a relevant institution within the European Union or within the United States of America. The Dehari family has chosen the Swiss institute since they have lived there for 20 years and so far no expense has been created. But soon I believe they will come up with a decision that will carry out and engage relevant experts for the investigation and for independent expertise”, Gashi has added.

Vetevendosje Movement Activist Astrit Dehari has passed away on November 5, 2016, at the Pre-burging Centre in Prizren. He was in custody since 30 August that year, when he was arrested by police as suspected of the attack on the Kosovo Assembly.
