Nishani uron Macron on occasion of France's National Festival

Republika President Bujar Nishani has sent a message of congratulations to the president of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the National Festival, Bastija Day, in which it reads:

Mr. President,

The celebration of the National Festival of France, the Day of Bastija, gives me the special opportunity and satisfaction that, in my name and the Albanian people, I present to you personally and all French citizens, the best and honest wishes.

On this landmark day for your country, I find with pleasure that traditionally very good relations between our two countries have developed and expanded even more in the last two decades. In the best tradition, a very special attention has been given to continued co-operation in the fields of culture and education, further strengthening the friendly ties between the two countries and our two peoples.

I take advantage of the case to express deep gratitude for the unhurt support France has given to Albania over decades, both in terms of the development and consolidation of democratic institutions and the rule of law, as well as in the framework of integration processes in NATO and the EU. I assure you that as a candidate country for the European Union, Albania is determined to continue on the path of deep and necessary reforms, convinced that only thus will the accession criteria be met and the best European standards achieved.
