The head of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament, Kadri Veseli, has participated in hosting the Kosovo Olympic Committee in honour of President of the National Olympic Committees Association Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, once again confirming his unprecedented support for sports and athletes.
In his speech to Kosovo athletes and sports executives, Chairman Wessel thanked all those who have contributed to the life preservation of sports in the most difficult years, as well as its internationalisation in recent years.
Kosovo is not only a number in the international sports community, but it is a value and inspiration. Our country has been showing the world its first Olympic talent and combat spirit. We have given the world a queen, a model of a successful female, our pride, the golden medallist, Majlinda Kelmendi. Its story today is inspiration for the new generations, not only in Kosovo but worldwide. As if Majlinda had hundreds of young men and women waiting to reach the top of the success in sports”, Chairman Wessel stressed.
He said Kosovo institutions should and will invest much more in sports, in larger sports spaces, in stadiums and gyms and sports schools.
"As chairman of the Parliament, I would like to highlight my unscathed support so that the demands and needs of the athletes can be addressed and realised. We have worked to get Kosovo as many favourable laws for athletes as possible, which we have done. I believe the other institutions would see to it that these laws could be implemented”, Chief Prime Minister Wessel stressed.
