Former Infrastructure Director Hysen Durmish has completed his mandate as director in Shpend Ahmeti's cabinet today. It will not be part of Ahmeti's new government.
On Facebook, Durmish has published a duty delivery notice, writing that 4 years in the government Ahmeti has been through hard work and engagement. However, the name of President Shpend Ahmeti is nowhere mentioned in his writing, since his work is dedicated to himself as a success.
Durmish also considers meeting citizens and says he has met 50,000 of them. According to some simple mathematical estimates, Durmish has met about 34 citizens a day during the past four years, including vacation days.
This is Durmish's full announcement:
Today I submitted the duty to the Pristina municipality. I spent four years with a lot of work and commitment. During these four years I have spared nothing by trying to at least impact infrastructure improvement in the Pristina municipality. Considering the limited budget and the obstacles we've faced, I believe we have achieved visible results. For 4 years we have paved some 400km of roads, many miles of sewers, sidewalks, and many other projects. I am very happy for the many meetings with citizens and the expectations I have made for them in my office. Communication with them has enabled me to decide much more about investment priorities. So I'm happy that citizens have been made part of decision making. For four years I've met some 50,000 citizens in my office. I don't believe there are any offices in Kosovo that have met so many citizens.
I thank everyone I've worked with in the office's successes. I thank all those citizens who have been very helpful. I thank all those activists and activists who helped and supported me. I also thank the staff I worked with. At the same time, I apologize to all of you if sometimes I haven't behaved properly.
Citizens of Pristina love you very much and I wish you all the best. Governance in Pristina I wish you many successes.
