The Kosovo and Albanian Parliament have agreed on the establishment of a committee aimed at resolving legislative problems, including students' issues of both countries, residence permits and the customs regime.
So it was decided at the meeting between Kosovo's chief parliament, Kadri Veselin, and Albanian counterpart Gramoz Ruci, who is staying in Kosovo on a two-day visit together with the chiefs of Albanian parliamentary groups.
“We agreed that both parliaments will establish a committee, as we have a committee in Albania in the European Union to solve legislative problems, to ease many obstacles such as students' issues, whether of Albanian students in Kosovo or of Kosovo students at the Albanian university, in order that within a year all the problem recorded so far, with obstacles to solve, the same thing as with the movement of people, residence permits, or customs regime issues”, Ruci said.
Albania's chief official has encouraged the political spectrum in the country, as soon as the problem of Demarketing with Montenegro is resolved, saying its failure also risks losing international support. Ruci called for overcoming political interests and allowing the way for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens.
We know that there is a difficult problem, there is a difficult debate between political forces, we encourage them to look beyond purely party interests and not lose the especially support of our strategic partners, such as the United States and the EU, in order to solve this problem as soon as possible. To be resolved as soon as this will then have one more positive thing to solve Kosovo's major visa regime problem, which unfortunately has remained the only country that its citizens in the Western Balkans have not become visa liberalisation”, Ruci said.
And Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has said the issue, which will be made urgently between the two countries, is recognition of diplomas. He said recognition of student diplomas from Kosovo and Albania will be automatic.
Wessel said that during the meeting with Ruci, there are no more barriers to trade, where Kosovo products in Albania and vice versa will not need to be accompanied by bureaucratic ways.
Wessel: Recognition of diplomas will be automatically done
I don't want to talk about recognition issues that shouldn't even be the subject between our two countries. That degree, which the institutions of the Republic of Albania, will almost recognise the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, will have automatic recognitions in our countries as well. That's what we'll do right away. The same practice will be used very quickly, and on the issue of trade exchanges so that goods, products produced in Kosovo and those that pass through Albania pass without bureaucratic and customs barriers.”, Veselin said.
