“Tanjug” reported this Tuesday quoting the Croatian daily “Jutarnji List”, which, on the other hand, quoted the Brussels-based EUobserver website, which said it had seen the letter sent to EU foreign policy chief Federica Moghrini, reports “92x>, the Periscopi broadcast.
According to this, Croatia is among the eight signatories.
The letter was sent ten days ago and was signed by the foreign ministries of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
These countries are demanding that the European Foreign Action Service (EEAS) “significantly expands its work in opposing Russian propaganda, especially in southern Europe and the Western Balkans”.
The letter says that “faced unprecedented third-side deinformation campaigns, we see an urgent need to further improve EU StratCom's capabilities”.
The Croatian newspaper recalls that StratCom is an office founded by the EU and supported by all member states, whose purpose is “to uncover and reject the truth about the EU, which the EU thinks Russia is spreading worldwide”./Periscopi/
