The case has occurred in the courtyard of a stan, while at the scene two state prosecutors have emerged along with the relevant Kosovo Police Unit.

At the announcement of Pec's Founding Prosecutor is known that the suspect has been arrested at the scene and is being interviewed by police.

“The suspect has been arrested at the scene and, at the order of the state prosecutor, has been detained for 48 hours, due to the suspicion based on having committed criminal acts"the murder by default"and"the possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons", according to the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code.”, said in the statement.

According to the report, the weapon allegedly committed was seized, while relevant units are expected to withdraw the victim's body.

At the order of the prosecutor, the victim's body was sent to exhibit.

Pec, July 23, 2026 - The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec announces the public opinion that after receiving information from the Kosovo Police that a person has lost his life from the firearm on the Decani Town Mountains, two (2) state prosecutors have emerged at the scene, in addition to relevant Kosovo Police units.

By actions taken at the scene, obtaining material evidence and interviewing eyewitnesses, there is doubt that the victim has lost his life as a result of the suspect's carelessness, respectively, by firing the weapon.

The suspect has been arrested at the scene and, at the order of the state prosecutor, has been detained for 48 hours, due to the alleged suspicion that he committed criminal acts"murder by carelessness"and"possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons", according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

At the order of the State Attorney, the victim's lifeless body has been sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine. Ballistics experts have also been engaged at the scene in conducting necessary examinations with the aim of fully clarifying the random circumstances.

The weapon allegedly committed has been seized, while actions for interviewing eyewitnesses and undertaking all other investigative actions have been authorized.

The state prosecutor, in full co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and competent institutions, will take all necessary investigative and legal actions for the full whiteening of this case.
