The prosecution calls for detention of Serbian citizens suspected of criminal acts of import, export and unauthorized arms sale

According to the prosecution, the arrest has been made in disarray following the development of intensive investigations and collection of material evidence.

According to the announcement, firearms were allegedly imported from Serbia and then modified contrary to legislation in effect.

Therefore, the suspects had been assigned the 48-hour detention measure, while on July 23rd the prosecution filed a request for the detention assignment.

Pristina, July 23rd 2026 .2026, at the order of the State Prosecutor's Office, announces the public opinion that, following the development of intensive investigations and the collection of material evidence, on 22.07.26, at the order of the State Prosecutor, the suspected person with the initials Mr.M., a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, under suspicion that he carried out the criminal work of imports, exports, transport, production, exchange, mediation, or sale of material weapons or artillery by 364 of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the Prosecutor, firearms have been imported from the Republic of Serbia and then modified contrary to legislation in force.

By order of the State Prosecutor, the detention measure has been imposed on the suspects for 48 hours, while today, in 23.07.26, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has submitted a request to the competent Court for the appointment of the detention measure, due to the suspicion given that it has carried out criminal work, import, export, supply, transport, production, exchange, unauthorized mediation or sale of weapons or explosive material, by Article 364 of KPR.
