Tehran blocks Hormuz, US rejects: Sea traffic follows normally

Iranian authorities have declared that the Hormuz Strait remains closed for sea navigation, directly challenging the United States' stance that traffic in this strategic corridor continues normally.
According to Iranian state media Fars, the Revolutionary Guard Navy has announced it will not issue permission for any ship to pass through the strait until a second notice.
The statement comes a day after Iran claimed it had closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the TCh reports. Periscope.
However, the U.S. military immediately rejected this claim, letting it be known that commercial ships continued operating in the area and that the sea movement had not ceased.
Hormuz Strait is considered one of the most important sea routes in the world for transporting oil and gas, and any development affecting its functioning is followed by concern by international markets and global powers.
The situation is being monitored closely, while tensions between Iran, Israel and Western allies continue to remain high despite diplomatic efforts to reduce the crisis in the region. /Periscope
