Prosecutor: Five people detained for criminal acts against voting rights

The State Prosecutor has indicated that during election day, he has identified 17 cases containing elements of criminal acts against voting rights, while five persons have been detained until this moment under the ongoing investigation.
According to the official announcement, over 100 prosecutors and members of the prosecutorial system personnel have been engaged throughout the day to monitor and ensure the success of the election process.
“During today the State Prosecutor has accepted some information and after their verification and treatment, until the closure of the voting process, it has been found that only seventeen of them present elements of the conduct of criminal acts against voting rights”, the prosecution's announcement reported.
According to published data, the largest number of cases have been recorded in Prizren on six occasions, followed by Pristina with four cases. Meanwhile, three cases have been recorded in Ferizaj, in Pec two cases and in northern Mitrovica two cases.

The prosecution institution has announced that prosecutors' commitment does not end with the decision-making closed. According to the prosecution, caretaker prosecutors will continue to monitor the process even during the vote count and transfer of election material to municipal counting centres.
