World Cup 2026: Tonight begins the decisive battle for the knockout phase

The phase of groups in the World Cup is entering the most crucial moments, as the first hour of the morning tonight takes place third round matches that will determine the teams that continue in the phase of direct elimination and those that end their adventure in the tournament.

The programme starts at 9:00 with Group B confrontations. At the center of the spotlight will be the duel between Switzerland and Canada, two nationals that have accumulated four points after the first two matches. The meeting is expected to decide not only the team that provides the qualifications, but also the leader of the group.

In this group's next single-point match, Bosnia and Qatar will fight for their expectations of qualifications. A victory could keep them alive in the race for one place at the next stage, depending on the outcome of the group's next match.

After midnight, by 00 a.m., attention is transferred to Group C. Brazil faces Scotland in a major challenge, while Morocco plays against Haiti. Brazil and Morocco lead the group by four points, while Scotland has three points and aims to secure a seat in the knockout phase. Haiti, on the other hand, has already lost every opportunity to continue in the tournament.

Meanwhile, around 3:00 a.m., Group A matches take place. Mexico, which has already secured the transition to the next phase thanks to six points collected, will face Czechia. At the next meeting, South Korea will play against South Africa.

Mexico leads the group at the most, while South Korea ranks second with three points. Czechia and South Africa have one point each, and will require positive results to keep the expectations of qualifications alive.

With many open scenarios and countries in the phase of still-undefined direct elimination, today's night is expected to bring great emotions and important verdicts to the World Cup./ Periscope.
