(a month ago)Albania's Ambassador to Skopje, Denion Meidani, has conveyed a message for the importance of Albanian language on the eve of the protest warned by Albanian students in Northern Macedonia for its protection and the conduct of exams in Albanian.
Through a social networking post, Meidan has divided several verses from the poem “juha Threpe” and Dishta, stressing the importance of preserving national identity through language. /Panorama
In his post, the ambassador isolated the verses:
So, rip-off every fucking religion,
a hollow of fire, a mountain and a city,
Your tongue never leave it.
Don't let go of my life.
His message comes at a point when the issue of Albanian language use and respect has prompted reactions and protest organisation by Albanian students in Skopje.
