The son of the founder of “Mango” is arrested, suspected of killing his father

Jonathan Antic, son of the founder of the world-renowned fashion company Mango, Isaac Antic, has been arrested in Spain.
The arrest was conducted by Catalan authorities as part of an investigation into the death of his father, who died in December 2024 after falling off a cliff near Barcelona. He fell off a rock about 150 feet [150 m] after slipping into one of the paths.
At first, it was reported a tragic accident, but differences in his son's statements and other evidence prompted investigators to investigate the matter further. Jonathan Andic was deputy chairman of the board of directors of the fashion company.
Some Spanish media have reported that both had a tense relationship and that they were involved in a serious row just prior to the incident. Jonathan Andic is expected to appear before a judge in the next few hours at Martorell.
Born in 1953 in Istanbul to a Sefard Jewish family, Isak Andic arrived in Catalonia at the age of 14. Three years later he sold clothes and shoes on the road markets and later expanded his professional activity by opening fashion shops, laying the foundation of what would become a major business empire in the Spanish textile sector, which became internationally competitive along with other Spanish companies like Zara.
