Perhaps Kosovo even needs Gendarmeri (this is best known to security experts). But every citizen of Pristina knows that at least the capital needs municipal police dealing exclusively with a mountain of problems related to local regulation violations (trafficking, noise, construction, usurping public spaces, pollution, etc).
The law for the capital adopted in 2018 envisions its creation, but the Interior Ministry has not made administrative instruction to function. As far as central level interest is concerned with Pristina.
