Lushtaku asks Kurt to withdraw the defamatory “

Skywright Mayor Sami Lushtaku, through his lawyer, Labinot Vata, has asked the incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti to withdraw his statement “pifare” about what Kurti said last night in a TV interview that Lushtak was supposed to hit his January 2025 convoy in Skenderaj.
After withdrawing the statement, the lawyer Vata has asked Kurt for an upgrade as well as an apology to Sami Lushtak.
We, in the quality of Mr. Sami Lushtaku, through Lawyer Labinot Vata, we address you regarding your public statements given date 18.05.2026 on the “interactive “ ”) show on KTV [...], where you stated: The head of the Skenderaj municipality, with the official car, 2Z, has been aiming to make a communications match with the escort I was in... has intended to disrupt the circulation of our escort, in a violent manner, with the official vehicle of the Skenderaj Community... there is a risk attempt to stop our escort, and then there's a three-way vehicle.
The above statements are grave, biased, and defamatory to Mr. Sami Lushtaku, directly violating honor, personal integrity, public reputation, and his political and social figure. Through these statements, you have publicly attributed to Mr. Sami Lushtaku's dangerous, violent and potentially illegal behavior, without any judicial ruling, final institutional act or judicial evidence confirmed that he would back such claims”, was told in the letter the lawyer Vata sent to Kurti, which Klan Kosova has provided.
He says that using such expressions as “has been intended to make a communications match”; “To interrupt circulation violently”; and “has after trying for danger”, directly ascribe Sami Lushtak to acts of dangerous and criminal nature, creating harmful, prejudiced and degrading perceptions to him in public opinion, “which has been attributed to z. Sami Lushtaku”
These statements, says lawyer Vata, become even more serious for the fact that they were given by the incumbent prime minister, in a broad-looking national media that gives them special institutional weight and enormous public impact.
He has reminded Kurt that the Law No. 02/ L-65 for Explaining and Denial provides the obligation to ease the damage and the right to response before the initiative of judicial procedures, namely, Article 12 of this law stipulates that: “Forging an indictment under this Law, a person who is supposed to be damaged will take all reasonable measures to ease any damage caused by the expression. In particular, the plaintiff will seek to improve that expression from the person who is supposed to have caused the damage”.
“In line with this legal provision and in the spirit of lessening the damage, Mr. Sami Lushtaku, through his legal representative, asks you to publicly withdraw statements made on the interactive “ “ ” show date 18.05.2026; Publishing public improvement and clarification regarding statements made to Mr. Sami Lushtaku? Ask for public forgiveness for false and damaging statements addressed to him; To refrain from other baseless statements that violate Mr. Sami Lushtaku. All of this takes place within 24 hours, from accepting this requirement”.
This request, according to Sami Lushtaku's lawyer, Labinot Vata, presents legal and institutional efforts to ease the damage caused and avoid further court procedures.
If no action is taken within the legal deadline, Mr. Sami Lushtaku reserves the right to initiate civil procedures for compensation for moral and reputational damage, as well as the undertaking of all legal means introduced with legislation in force”, was said at the end of this letter.
