Within just two months, six people were attacked by stray dogs in the spaces of the Kosovo University Clinical Centre.
Four of them were even medical staff.
Thus, the April 30th CKUK founded an emergency headquarters, where in addition to acts within the institution included the Pristina municipality, the Veterina Agency and the Food and Animal Protection Organisations.
This headquarters is only for one purpose.
So the purpose of this emergency headquarters is because most of the cases are being attacked by citizens, patients and even staff, for this reason the University Clinical Centre has initiated this”, declared Mirlinda Qyqalla, KKUK spokeswoman.
Qyqalla said they are pending confirmation of the participation of parties outside the CKUK who are invited.
“We are still waiting for the people we've contacted so we are waiting for them to respond and we immediately hold an appointment and then we'll see what actions we'll take”, Qyqala stressed.
And, from the Pristina municipality in a written reply, they said there was no interest in co-operation from the central level.
“QKUK is in management of the Health Ministry and has so far shown no interest in co-operation in reducing this problem. The Pristina municipality, however, has repeatedly interviewed the KKUK area for the evacuation of stray dogs. So far, about 100 stray dogs have left this area. A total of 12 dogs have been removed from the past week to this day, from which only 7 dogs have been taken today and sent to the shelter for the@x1> treatment.
