Elez: CEC to send ballots to about 85 thousand voters registered by mail

About 85 thousand Kosovo citizens, who were registered to vote via mail in early parliamentary elections, the Central Election Commission will send the package with a ballot to their address, CEC spokesman Valmir Elesi announced at a news conference.
He said the process of sending “would begin within several days”.
“04/2025 for registration and voting outside Kosovo, The CEC will make sure that Kosovo citizens registered for voting by mail forward it via the ballot package at their address. The process of sending these packages will begin within days, while the voter's task is to deliver the package via mail to the CEC mailbox address”, Elesi said.
The CEC had sent the original ballot to registered voters even in the October and the December local elections.
Based on preliminary data, from the beginning of this process on May 6th and until its completion on May 17, 2026, 142,803 registration requirements have been accepted, from which 109,696 have been approved, while another 7,325 have been refused and 25,702 are pending review.
The best way to vote is to vote through mail. Out of 109,696 approved applications, 81,901 citizens have registered to send the ballot package to the mailbox outside Kosovo, another 2,855 to submit the ballot package to the CEC post box in Kosovo, and 24,940 are registered to vote physically in any of its diplomatic representatives.
Under the Law for General Elections, voting abroad is held earlier. First, it is scheduled for the postal vote to begin on May 25th and end on June 6th, meanwhile, the diplomatic representation vote is organised on June 6th.
