Actor Russell Andrews shows that he has been diagnosed with ALS

Actor Russell Andrews, known for his roles at Better Call Saul and Straight Outta Compton, has publicly discovered that he has been diagnosed with ALS (The Amiotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive disease that affects the nervous system.
Andrews, 64, indicated that the diagnosis was confirmed at the end of 2025. He spoke about it during an interview on CNN with his fiancée, actress Erica Tazel.
According to him, symptoms had begun during the pandemic period COVID-19.
At first, he felt that he had suffered strokes or nerves, feeling muscular swings and numbness in his arms.
In time, he began to lose his strength and to have difficulty carrying out ordinary actions, such as holding glasses or other items.
He also explained he lost health insurance during film and television industry strikes, which delayed medical visits.
After regaining his insurance, one doctor immediately referred him to the neurologist, where he later received an ALS diagnosis.
Erica Tazel said he had noticed slight changes in his walk and movements and that the diagnosis, though serious, gave clarity to the situation.
She declared that she would continue to stand by him and even said: “And I want to be your wife. ”
Andrews said he has found great support in the ALS Network organisation and is now co-operating with them to raise awareness of this disease during the month of ALS awareness.
