Kosovo has applied for membership in the European Union in mid-December 2022.
On April 15th of this year, there were 40 months since our application remained unattended by the Council.
Kosovo is the region's most advanced democracy, with the highest average economic growth and fully listed with the European Union's values and foreign and security policy.
Membership in the European Union is the strategic choice our society has made and the government has priority.
Today, with the aim of the dynamism of the process and to ensure interilateral co-ordination in this priority issue, we have established the Executive Committee for membership in the European Union.
We authorized the chief negotiator with the European Union to create the specific Task Force, starting today with the Task Force for Country Status candidate.
The EU must be expanded by reforming simultaneously.
Make decisions in foreign policy by maintaining internal unity. These are possible, and Kosovo is ready to contribute.
The enlargement process brings reforms, advance democracy and economic prosperity. Membership is made for reforms, democracy, development and contributing to the largest joint peace and prosperity project.
