EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos will officially announce this at today's European Parliament Foreign Affairs Commission meeting (AFET).
Serbia remains without 1.5 billion euros from the so-called “Growth Plan” due to controversial reforms in justice.
However, the final decision will be made after the Venice Commission gives its opinion to the so-called “Merdiq” licenses.
Kos has already estimated that with the adoption and implementation of these laws, Serbia is taking steps back on the road towards the EU and has demanded that their implementation be suspended by law.
In addition, the six Western Balkan countries face the possibility of remaining without more than 700m euros.
According to N1, the entire Balkans risks losing the opportunity to receive these funds if it fails to fulfill reform tasks by June 30th. It is reforms that should be completed by the end of June last year, but the deadline has already been extended.
Kos will warn you of this opportunity at today's AFET meeting, so that countries will realize that time is running out.
