K ESCO, in the quality of the Universal Service provider, reports that in line with the Energy Law and at the request of the Energy Regulatory Office ( ZRGE, from April 1, 2026, will continue the second phase of the release of commercial consumers into the open market. Under the legal and regulatory framework in force, commercial consumers who have over 50 employees or realised annual circulation of over 10m euros will no longer be supplied under the universal service with regulated tariffs, but will be obliged to choose their own supplier.
Based on official data Kosovo Tax Administration, a number of businesses no longer meet the criteria for supply within the universal service. That's why, starting with April 01, 2026, KESCO in the role of the Universal Service provider will not be able to supply these businesses with regulated tariffs.
The respective businesses must choose by April 01st 2026 a licensed supplier to the open market and begin the supplier's changing procedure at least 21 days before the new contract's entry into force. List of licensed suppliers is published on the official page ZRGE (ERO) www.ero-x.org.
If a business does not select suppliers over time, from April 01st 2026 will be temporarily supplied by the Last possible supplier for a period of up to 60 days, during which contract must be signed with a licensed supplier. In the absence of a contract within this term, electricity supply will be cut in line with legislation in force.
Also, businesses that are self-consumers (prosumers) are announced that from this date the existing agreement on self-consummation under regulated tariffs is concluded, while treatment of energy produced and injected to the network will be regulated according to terms of contract with the chosen supplier.
K E SCO invites businesses to confirm with the company the number of employees, annual circulation and units/mats in exploitation in order to ensure correct treatment during the process of switching to the open market.
