Political Mizathropy
Albin Kurti's political journey over the past year has been impressive. After a meaningless euphoria explosion when it won somewhere at 42% of the vote (February 2025), it introduced the country into collapses. His political opponents, offended by his extremist language, unacceptable, were rejecters of any proposal.
Wait, suspension, confusion. No Kosovo politician, likely, knew how he would get out of that suspension. The opposition were pleased, the ball was at Kurt's feet.
Kurt took it easy. He was Prime Minister in charge, after all. He was still ruling. He made some small, anemic moves, unconsensually proposing Albulen Haxhiun for Parliament Speaker. He knew exactly how much the opposition's name sounded to them. Once, two, three, four.
The opposition enjoyed it, and Albin enjoyed it most. Summer passed, autumn. Albin exchanged the candidate for another, even more conflicting. The opposition refused again. Albin was happy. He then proposed a ridiculous candidate, an MP whose words become memes in Kosovo. What could the opposition do? This time he was able to surprise Kurt, voted by the MP named as Parliament Speaker!
Of course, this was the only moment the opposition picked up Kurt. However, he was not discouraged. Without consensus, he presented the government headed by him again, assisted by the stubbornness of the opposition, who thought their stability was weakening the prime minister.
Kurti's government collapsed, the opposition shook hands, more pissed at Albini. He had to go to the elections. But it was October end yet, the 26th. If elections were made in constitutional terms, the maximum should be organised in the early days of December.
This is where the combination Albin-Vyosa comes in. How do we postpone elections for two weeks until VV's electoral oxygen arrives, immigrants? The Glauk card was dropped.
Kosovo's president gives the mandate to Mr. Konjufca, though no reasonable impetus had for that mandate. Clearly, it was to postpone the election. It was a political bluff.
The confused opposition already doesn't vote Government Conjufca!
That was her biggest political mistake. If he voted Mr. Konjufca and his government, the opposition would have greatly distressed Mr. Kurti and held on to a fragile government whose rope the opposition would hold. That would be a favourable position for him.
Instead, the opposition chooses senseless stubbornness and undermines government. Everything goes according to Kurt's plan.
Now Mr. Kurti has got 487 thousand votes, or 51.1%. The opposition touched on the historic end. Victory is complete.
This is Albin's best historical moment. He arrived thanks to the victimisation, the undisputed winning card on Albanian soil. If you succeed in opposing all factors, by or without reason, Albanians make you a hero. Because you're the victim, the David, the tenacious, the supreme, the Robespier.
The best political moment is the beginning of the decline. Next to the mountain comes the diet, the tap. Staying at the top must be even more strategious than climbing. To share power, to be kind to your opponent is a way of coping with the pressure. But our leaders have done the opposite in general. In the delirium of success, they wanted to make a total victory. Not only defeat him but humiliate the opponent. Kurt had to stretch out his hand now that he didn't have to. To demonstrate tolerance, diplomacy, discretion. When there were 42 deputies, he was forced to do so because he forced mathematics. Now he had to do it to give another signal - that of cooperation. Even if rejected by the opposition, the effort would be marked as a moment of reflection, positiveness. The moral creed would grow. Political time is difficult, the small's stubbornness makes it ridiculous.
And if you don't do it for Government Co-operation, do it for the Republican ceremonial institution, its president. That institution where good men and women are always involved. For which political qualities or integrity are not required, but only backgrounds. This treatment itself politically denigrates that institution.
A prime minister's subordinate will be named there, at best a man for whom Albin will decide. Without asking the opposition.
Kurt is a political flyer. A drill that as a garden child wants to shoot the penalty earned because <x0-top is mine”. Let him hit that penalty.
Kurt acts like he's president of France, not like the prime minister of a country who doesn't know half the world. There are international forces that guard the border. But as a proverb says, Every island feels like the Continent. And Guraçao.
The opposition should neither be a party nor help solve the president.
Soon the euphoria will fall and the capulation will begin.
