Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has confirmed this decision through a post on the social X network, naming the invitation a special honour. “I am deeply honoured by the president's personal invitation to represent the Republic of Kosovo as the founding member of the Peace Board, standing side by side with the United States in pursuit of a safer world”, Osmani wrote.
It has also stressed the US's role in achieving peace in Kosovo, adding that today Kosovo stands firmly as an ally of America, ready to contribute to preserving and advancing peace.
According to Reuters, Kosovo, a Balkan country of about 1.6 million people, is the close ally of the United States, which supported its independence from Serbia in 2008.
