The official involved in the sexual scandal in Montenegro reacts: The president has failed to act

Mirjana Pajkovic, former Directorial Secretariat for the improvement and protection of human rights and freedoms at the Ministry of Human Rights and Minories in Montenegro, spoke in an interview for online portal television Dan for threats and blackmail against it, which claims to have been submitted by Dejan Vuksic former president and former director of the Agency for National Security.

Pajkovic said the state has reacted inadequately to dealing with violence against it over a long period of time, including serious threats that have not resulted in arrests.

She added that even the “state president has failed to act” on her complaints.

Former official stressed that her case shows that the law does not apply equally to all, and that gender equality and protection of fundamental rights are lacking in Montenegro, reports media.

In the interview, Pajkovic appealed particularly to women “not to be silent in the face of attacks or abuse”, saying she herself considers her initial silence as a monotheism “monotheism”.

It has shown that “Vuxpic has been patient and has repeatedly threatened that there will be no life in Montenegro for” because of a compromising material, as it refused to act on its demands.

Pajkovic has filed several criminal charges against Vuksic and, as a lawyer, estimates that current laws are not enough to address today's crimes, including blackmail and threats with broad personal and professional consequences.

In support of women who face discrimination, insults or other forms of inadequate treatment and non-legal acts, the Protection Institute of Rights and Freedoms has called for the ban on stigmatising and intimidating campaigns against Pajkovic.

According to this institution, no one despite the public function he holds or held does not lose the right to privacy, dignity and protection against violence.

The founding prosecutor in Podgorica has formed two cases in connection with Pajkovic's conglomerates, while Vuksic has declared that there is no connection to the creation or distribution of compromised materials that have appeared in public. /Periscope
