IPK gives police 10 recommendations expected to influence police professionalism

The inspection has been conducted under the annual Order Inspection Plan for 2025. The inspection has provided opportunities to get acquainted with the performance of Pristina Narcotics Investigation Unit in dealing with the criminal acts of this nature.

The objectives of this inspection have been: the identification of human and professional capacities, the assessment of the rules/procedures in the investigation and prosecution of cases in the State Prosecutor, the assessment of treatment and preservation of evidence/proofs, and the assessment of maintaining and maintaining evidence and files.

The findings of this inspection are of interest to the relevant police structure, including the leading level and investigative operative.

The IPK under the report has provided ten (10) recommendations related to the need to establish internal control mechanisms to ensure that investigators do not have access to classified information without having to verify security, exercise of checks to ensure that reporting to the State Prosecutor on criminal acts under official duty is practiced through official reports.

The recommendations have also been provided for the exercise of inspection plans, full implementation of each of the ordered measures, completing files with evidence/requisition lists and screening reports, compliance with the full chain of command during proceedings to the State Prosecutor, and the return of information from the unit in question on the status of intelligent reports accepted by the Analysis and Statistics Office.
