Election Recounting Process Completed in 8 Municipals

CEC spokesman Valmir Elez confirmed this, saying that 937 out of 2,557 seats have been recounted by 1600 today.

“From the beginning of this process (c. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 18:00) and so far (On Wednesday, January 21, 2026), 937 of the 2,557 seats have been recounted. According to these data, until now the recount has completely closed in 8 municipalities”, he indicated.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission plans until the end of January to complete the process of recounting the candidates until early in February plan to announce the final election results.

According to the CEC in this recount process under the two CEC decisions -- the one on January 13th and the last of January 19th -- 76 counting teams are engaged in the CNR.

“Based on this capacity and the number of remaining locations to recount, plan and make efforts to complete the entire recount process by the end of January. After the recounting ended, the CEC will announce the final outcome of the” election, Elezi has said.

January 13th The CEC had made a decision to recount 914 deployments, while with the second decision, January 19th, is set to include another 1,643 seats, extending the process overall.
