Airport noise causes discontent in Zurich's rich municipalities

Residents of rich municipalities near Zurich, known as “Gold Coast” (Golden Coast) are indignant by new regulations that allow planes to fly south at the Zurich airport, a move aimed at boosting security when winds blow from a certain direction, sends albinfo.ch.

Educated calmly and comfortable in their prosperous neighbourhoods, residents of these municipalities are expected to face significant increase in noise from flights, as southern departures will pass over their areas. For this reason, local elected representatives are urging citizens to react against this new rule.
