For a year nearly 1000 more veterans on the pension list

Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published social welfare statistics for the month of December 2025, according to which in some pension schemes the number of beneficiaries has declined, while in others the number of beneficiaries has increased compared to December 2024. According to the AKS, the number of beneficiary veterans has increased by 985 per year or by 2.7 percent. Of the 36 thousand and 990 veterans on the list of beneficiaries in December 2024 on December 2025 on the list were 37 thousand and 975.
According to the AKS, the number of beneficiaries from a year's social aid scheme has scored 10.3 percent. Of the 18 thousand and 121 beneficiaries in 2024, in December last year on the beneficiary list were 16 thousand and 253 persons.
The decline has been marked by several other categories of beneficiaries.
“in December 2025, compared to December 2024, there was a decline in the number of beneficiaries from: disability pensions scheme (-27,5 %); project for Trepca pensions (-20,6 %); family pensions schemes (-10,6 %); social assistance scheme (-10,3 %); age-added pension scheme (-2, %); handover schemes for martyrs and disabled families of war (-14, %x1>, reported the ASK report.
While increasing the number of beneficiaries had other categories of beneficiaries.
“in December 2025, compared to December 2024, there was an increase in the number of beneficiaries from: paraplegic and Tetraplegic Pensions scheme (12,6 %); Kosovo Security Force pensions scheme (8,6 %); financial support schemes for families who have disabled children (8,0 %); basic retirement schemes of age (7, %); education workers who worked during the 1990/91 school year until 1998/99, %1); pensions schemes for disabled persons, (45) for veterans, (27%. Kosovo Protection Corps pensions scheme (TMK) (0.8 %); compensation scheme for blind persons (1,2 %)”, says the statement.
