Open letter to our friend Rick Green.
Mr. Green,
The strategic alliance between Kosovo and the US is historical and based on mutual and sincere values. The invincible spirit of this alliance extends beyond the ideological differences of various political forces, both in Kosovo and in the US, and this is now being witnessed under President Trump's second presidency.
Kosovo is the first country in our region, and among the first in Europe, to have emerged in support of President Trump's historic action to prevent Iran's nuclear weapons equipment. Kosovo also immediately openly supported President Trump's righteous policies against illegal immigration by becoming the first state, and so far alone in Europe, which has agreed to accommodate within its illegal immigrant territory that the Trump administration will expel. Also this year Kosovo, in concrete steps, has followed President Trump's vision of making maximum use of coal resources to produce electricity, and, without thinking twice, has invited the American giant “General Electric” to complete our thermal power plants.
Serbia's aggressive actions are a serious threat to Kosovo and to peace in the region. As for this issue, despite internal differences, there is full reconciliation between all acts of wide political spectrum in Kosovo. And despite Belgrade's denials, the danger from Serbia is still real.
“We did a good job with India and Pakistan, also with Serbia and Kosovo, Rwanda and Congo. And all of this happened over the last three weeks or more, right Marco? We in Kosovo, including us ordinary citizens, are inclined to trust the statements of an American president, the more an energetic, clear, artistic, and objective president, what is President Trump.
I don't even want to deal with the fact that your thesis is identical to what Marco Dyric introduced a few hours ago, even though it bothers me. I don't believe Marko Djuric, or any Serbian official, is right when he claims that it's not a development of the last three weeks (something that looks like President Trump and Secretary Rubio are familiar with), but it's about something old five years ago. And I don't think you're getting involved in President Trump's not clear enough to confuse things, time and events. Let's not forget we're talking about President Trump, not President Biden!
I fully respect your report with friends you have in Belgrade as well as with the Serbian community in the US, but you should not forget that the Albanian community in the US, extended to the crucial states (what you call “swing stages”), was unique and loyal, fulfilling its electoral promise to President Trump. You know very well their role and contribution to the last elections.
Lady Vjosa Osmani is president of the Republic of Kosovo, the most pro-American state in the world. Despite the context, as leader of an ally state witnessed by the US, President Osmani deserves at least minimum respect and corruption.
If not for anything else, then for the sake of the genuine commitment of the Albanian community in the US, which you personally have received with open arms, when you publicly address the leaders of the state of Kosovo, you must show little caution.
Honestly,
Kadri Kryeziu
The former deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.
