Don't screw up!

There is enthusiasm among Albanians that President Trump has cited his success in the Kosovo-Serbia conflict as well as the halting of the Israeli-Iran War.

In fact, it is a declaration that should be taken seriously only for President Trump's will to be involved in the history of the Kosovo-Serbia conflict. But it is not serious news either for the Kosovo conflict Serbia or Iran Israel.

The 2020 Kosovo-Serbia agreement, signed at the White House, each side with the US, had no major success except to establish Kosovo's diplomatic relations with Israel. Politically, there were consequences.

The most serious consequence was Hashim Thaci's arrest and his sending to The Hague, in a process after which it appears President Trump's rivals were standing in Washington. A few months before the deal, the administration of President Trump had undermined Prime Minister Albin Kurti's mandate, establishing an opposition government in Kosovo, led by Avdullah Hoti.

All of this led to the new 2021 elections, Albin Kurti, with part of LDK headed by Vjosa Osmani, winning the majority and throwing Washington's deal in the basket.

The US's biggest contribution to Kosovo remains 1999: the bombing of Serbia and the liberation of Kosovo. The negotiated agreement in the Trump office is a diplomatic routine that has produced political consequences in Kosovo, but not any significant balance in the reports between the two countries.

That is why in Kosovo the political class should be aware of the delicate position the country is in and how little it really thinks about.

President Trump's interest in the Kosovo conflict- Serbia is good, as if it were essential. In fact, the ease with which he mentions Washington's agreement and the more context of reference, amid the Israeli-Iran bombing, is a clear indication of the content of the information there is about this conflict.

And this is a signal that Kosovo is neither the center of the world nor is it any longer US comfort in the Balkans. As Christopher Hill stressed, one of the people with more contributions to Kosovo's freedom on behalf of the US, America already has other interests in Serbia, which have nothing to do with Kosovo.

Therefore, it is not to be happy that Trump simply mentions Kosovo. It's only to rejoice that he confirms her independence. Everything else shows how little Washington currently cares about Kosovo. Even, the current US ambassador to Pristina has not yet emerged to react to the 32-fold famous vote for Albulena, as did former American Ambassador in 2016 when Albin Kurti, Isa Mustafa, Ramush Haradinaj and Fatmir Limaj came together to bring down Hashim Thaci and blocked the Parliament.

Now, in a way, President Trump said that, but without even knowing what is being done in Kosovo.
