Only those who do not understand Middle Eastern politics can take seriously reports that some Arab leaders and diplomats are concerned about Israel's recent preventative action against Iran. Indeed, this is largely a false attitude to satisfy the inner opinion. Most of their population is deeply against Israel for religious reasons, but also because of the anti-Israel indoctrination their governments have planted before.

This is a situation similar to that of Western European governments. Keir Starmer's false criticisms and measures against Israel, such as suspending the sale of arms and sanctions, stem, not from sincere concerns, but from the need to strengthen support among the labist electorate, which is largely anti-Israel strongly.

Arab leaders are well aware of Iran's impending danger. The Aileols are the most vocal against Israel, but they hate them equally, if not more, the Sunni Arab states. And this is not just rhetoric. Iranian representatives have attacked the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in recent years, while Iran itself has attacked American bases in Iraq and several days ago in Qatar. For years, Iran has been trying to undermine Jordan and turn it into a base for attacks against Israel.

An Iranian nuclear capacity poses a threat to Arab countries as much as it does to Israel. For years it has been believed that Israel owns nuclear weapons. Arabs know that this poses no threat to them. Only when the Iranian nuclear programme began to progress, several countries in the region, particularly Saudi Arabia, began seriously considering the possibility of nuclear equipment.

Except for Iran and Syria itself, Israel has attacked no other country in the region, and Arabs know it will not. All of his military operations in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq have been against Iranian representatives who have attacked Israel.

In the case of Syria, which is officially in a state of war with Israel, the destruction of much of Syria's military capacities has been a defensive move to neutralise a growing threat.

Today, Israel and the new regime in Syria are in constant dialogue, where the possibility of al-Julan normalising relations and even joining Abraham's agreements is discussed. This certainly remains a fragile opportunity, but may be an indication of a new reality in the Middle East, formed thanks to Israel's strong defence against Iranian aggression.

While speaking of Arab fear from Israel, what has happened on the other hand? When Iran launched missiles and fears against Israel in April last year, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Emirates and Bahrain were involved in Israel's defence. After the scenes, many Arab countries have been quietly supporting Israel in its fight against Hamas in Gaza. Some have even offered practical support. They want Israel to win Gaza because they themselves fear the Muslim Brotherhood, whose branch is Hamas. They know that if Hamas wins, it will encourage jihadists in their countries.

The main motive for uniting Arab countries with Abraham's agreements during Trump's first mandate was Israel's military force and Benjamin Netanyahu's willingness to use it. This was reinforced by the apparent abandoning of Obama's Sunni Allies in favour of strengthening Iran. If America could no longer offer protection against Iranian aggression, then Israel could. This was further confirmed during the last 12-day war. This increases the possibility that Abraham's agreements will be expanded, including Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. They may have faith in the current American administration, but what happens in the future? They may not fall in love with Israel, but they know that he has no choice but to always remain the strong <x0-5cal”. /Periscope/
